Hacía tiempo que no escuchaba ni leía esta manida y expresiva frase en un medio de comunicación. Por su interés informativo reproducimos este artículo. Con este epígrafe reproducía hace escasos días el diario Levante-EMV una columna de opinión publicada únicamente una jornada antes en El Mundo por una redactora de este último periódico.
Sin entrar en el intríngulis del contenido ni en el transfondo de la decisión editorial, me quedo con el gesto, con el hecho de reproducir un artículo publicado por un medio de la competencia más directa. Y la decisión se debe, según informa el diario a sus lectores, ni más ni menos que a su interés informativo. ¡Qué otro motivo podría tener mayor fuerza y razón de ser!
Esta determinación contrasta con la mala praxis –poco recriminada- de fusilar contenidos ajenos y citarlos casi como propios, con todo el descaro y la falta de ética del mundo. Frente a esa tentación en la que caen algunos redactores y con la que se desprestigian ellos mismos emerge esta recuperación de artículos externos “por su interés informativo”.
El detalle me sorprendió y, como periodista lector, me emocionó. Lo contemplé como una hermosa forma de reconocer la valía de un compañero de profesión y la capacidad de un medio rival para relatar un hecho que otro diario considera de sumo interés para sus lectores. Tanto que lo reproduce tal cual.
Ojalá pudiéramos escuchar o leer muchas más veces esa agradable tonadilla. Sería, como digo, una elocuente manera de admitir públicamente que contamos con excelentes profesionales en nuestro sector que trabajan diariamente para suministrar la mejor información a su audiencia/clientela. Resultaría, como insisto, una forma de enaltecer y dignificar nuestro oficio.
Por cierto, y cambiando de tercio temático, me entristeció comprobar días atrás cómo, a las ocho y cuarto de la mañana, en mis quiosco habitual ya no quedaban ejemplares de dos diarios de ámbito nacional. Los propios vendedores andaban consternados. Dicen que piden constantemente que les sirvan una mayor cantidad. Pero el ahorro en papel y la austeridad reinante parece que obligan a limitar tanto la tirada que muchos ávidos lectores se quedan sin su ejemplar. Una verdadera lástima.
